PLEASE NOTE: The character presented on this page is fictional. She was created by me, Elenaria ni Aesin, for steampunk roleplaying and creative purposes. We are both people, though I am nonbinary, and both enjoy dressing in suits. But she is her own character.
I have done my utmost to ensure I do not insult anyone of the British Peerage, either living or dead, but if you think I have done so, please send me a message and I shall see what I can do. I have done my best also to make up titles, and lay no claim what so ever that I or my character are or have been a noble that actually existed in the United Kingdom.
All similarities to persons living, dead or fictional are unintentional.
Sir Vincent Ailean Cameron Ravenscroft, Earl of Tolquhon and Viscount of Findlater, exists somewhere between a steampunk "what if" years 1860 and 1900, and is in her late twenties.
She is heir apparent to the Duchy of Grampian, but her father is the duke of Cumbria - that title will, however, pass to Vincent's younger brother. Oh, the ways of inheritance are many and convoluted...
Few, even those who find her ways more than merely eccentric (perhaps downright frightening and disgusting), are completely immune to her charm and she is known to befriend everyone, no matter how low or high born. Though a staunch believer in the rightful division of Britain in aristocracy and non-aristocracy, she is also very resolute in her opinion that power entails responsibility. One does not rule, one is a steward, and must be a role model, a good listener and above all put the good of those under one's care before one's own.
This, naturally, does nothing to endear her to more traditionalistic nobles. But the people of Grampian know her, or of her, and her mother, and are happy to be left mostly to their own devices.
While she is a passionate, adventure-keen, fashion-conscious charmer, Vincent nevertheless has had a good education and is very up to date with news around the world. Social gatherings are her playing field, balls and picnics and other amusements, and though she rather uses her keen mind to find out things about whoever is the subject of her affections at the moment, she is considered a member of the L/Z "Elegance" under captain Mauritz Kettenfaust for a reason. Some speculate this is merely because her fortune helps keep the ship flying, but her closest friends know she uses her considerable charm and social skills to find out information that would otherwise remain unknown - and it is passed on to higher authorities, in the interest of keeping the world a more peaceful place.
High or low, there is no limit to who Vincent falls in love with (or indeed, how many). She falls out of love almost as quickly, may seem almost mercurial in her emotions but never holds a grudge for long. And, it seems, many of her former inamoratos, inamoratas, swains and ladyloves are fairly well inclined towards her.
More of her story follows through the pictures, the journal entries and, though I do not publish them here, novels. Because who knows, and besides, they're starting to be many enough for a book!
